Ryan’s first exposure to photography was in a college course with a Sony point-and-shoot camera - which meant an upgrade to his first DLSR followed shortly after. He has dabbled in photography as a hobby for the past two(ish) decades. While he has been through a few cameras (and many lenses) since, Ryan currently shoots on a Fuji X-T30II and whatever the latest and greatest iPhone model is. An avid consumer of blogs, books, podcasts, social media (some platforms back when they were still cool, fun, and socially acceptable), and Slack channels - he is mostly self-taught and constantly strives to improve his craft. In addition to photography, Ryan is an aficionado of watches, Apple products, camping gear, whiskey, coffee, mid-century modern architecture, James Bond (before Amazon bought the rights), and dogs. Professionally, Ryan has spent his career running, building, and leading customer support organizations for a variety of tech startups. You can find him driving his wife, two sons, and border collie mix around the San Francisco Bay Area (in his Subaru Outback, of course) looking for his next great shot.
